In turn that means they sell the best and highest. We had Pigmy goats until we decided to go Boer. One thing to keep in mind with goats is they don't do well on pasture. They are a browser not a forager. There are several good books out there on the subject. Also a good article in the January/February 06 issue of Hobby Farms. The market for goats will continue to grow as the ethnic population does. I know people make a living farming, but honestly it would have to be on such a large scale that I feel it would no longer be enjoyable. I'll try to answer questions, but I'm sure I don't know as much as some. Raising the children and the farm is a team effort. I couldn't do it without help from their mother and my parents. I have been thinking of raising goats, but not sure if it's economical to do so. Why did you choose Boer goats to raise? Do you think the market for goats would be profitable enough to make a living? I live in the north Alabama area. I would appreciate hearing from you if you have the time to respond with all you have to do. I don't know how you do it all and raise three children. Thanks!
